Think Pink
- First up - let's learn about their dedication to service! Zeta Tau Alpha's national philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness, and the Gamma Nu chapter does an incredible job at supporting such a great cause! Throughout the year, they throw multiple events and raise money for their philanthropy.
In the Fall, they have their annual Pink Week, a Zeta staple in October. Their main event of the week is a flag football tournament, encouraging other organizations to participate! Last October, they had teams of other fraternities, parents, and other clubs. They gave out giftcards to local places, a signed football, among other fun prizes for the winners. They also made some super cute Pink Week buttons for the event, if we do say ourselves. 😉
In the Spring, Zeta Tau Alpha at UVA gives back with their annual Run for Life 5K. Just a couple weeks ago, they threw their 26th annual raceraised over $37,500!! Let's take a moment for how impressive that is! They had over 750 participants, sponsors, and performers at the race to help make it such a success. A percentage of the money raised will go to the local UVA Breast Cancer Center, while the rest goes to their national philanthropy. Being able to raise THAT much money while having a great time with your sisters, university, and community - what a dream!

Sister Sister
We couldn't do a sorority chapter deep dive without bragging on their close knit sisterhood! Hannah talked about how great the girls are that make up UVA Zeta are, and how much fun they get to have together.
We love a good sisterhood event, and Zeta might have thrown one of our favorite events to date. They went snow tubing and skiing for a Spring retreat, and it looked like a blast! It's such a unique way to have fun and bond with new sisters and reconnect with others. Fun, chill, different - our kind of sorority retreat!
What's better than a sisterhood retreat? A themed function! Hannah talked about her favorite date function of the semester, a Euphoria themed night! With the insane obsession over the show, it was a huge hit for the chapter ... not to mention super fun to dress up for! Glitter everywhere, bright colors, the bold eye makeup - we love to see it. Needless to say, their date function look absolutely ~EUPHORIC.~
Finally, Hannah talked with me about Parents Formal, a unique twist on the classic sorority formal. Every Spring, they throw the event at a golf course resort, making it feel even more special. Parentsare welcome to attend, and a lot of them stay in the resort for the weekend. This formal is a fun excuse to dress up and celebrate Springtime! It's also a great way to spend time with the 'rents that's not as hectic as Parent's Weekend in the Fall.

Full Sweep
As the year is wrapping up, let's take a look back on the super successful Spring Zeta Tau Alpha at UVA had! They welcomed a new PC, growing the Zeta fam even more. Hannah talked about her own experience going through rush, and how she knew ZTA was for her. She ravved about how amazing her chapter is at matching people with similar interests, making them feel immediately at home and comfortable. Coming from a small town, it can be intimidating going to a huge school with people you don't know. When she walked into Zeta, however, she immediately felt accepted and welcome. And that's when you know you're in the right place - when you are completely comfortable and feel like you're talking to an old friend.
That perfectly describes the reasoning for her advice for girls about to go though rush - don't try to be someone you're not! To end up in a sorority that's right for you, you have to be yourself. It's exhausting trying to pretend to be anything else, and won't help you find where you're truly supposed to be :)
This past Spring, Zeta had a blast being able to finally hold their Recruitment in person. Hannah talked about how nice it was since her PC had a Zoom recruitment, making the experience even more special for the chapter. From being together again to getting to talk with girls that might be a future little, Recruitment 2022 was a slam dunk! 🏀
