Good to Be an AXiD
First up - AXiD's sisterhood! One of the best things about joining a sorority is meeting girls from all over and getting to experience college with them. The themed socials and sisterhood events are just an added bonus :) We got the rundown on some of the chapter fav events from the past year, as well as some other fun things that make this sisterhood stand out from the rest.
One thing's for sure about this sisterhood - they got brains! The chapter had the highest overall GPA for Fall 2021, and that's seriously somthing to be proud of. This group of women does an incredible job at pushing one another, creating study groups to keep people accountable and motivated to succeed.
Close the books - it's event time! Alpha Xi at ECU started off the Spring semester with a paintball sisterhood for the PC that went through Recruitment during COVID. Those girls never got the chance to bond in person, so why not make it up with a unique paintball retreat??
As the Spring semester went on, Alpha Xi Delta also had an ice skating sisterhood, where girls were literally "picking up" their sisters off the ice. It did, however, give different friend groups the chance to meld and hang out together. With super busy class schedules (and impressive GPAs to keep up with), it's always nice to take a break and try to ice skate with your sisters :)

Alpha Xi in the Community
Alpha Xi Delta at East Carolina doesn't just throw great socials ... they give back to their community as well! AXiD recently adopted the Kindly Hearts Campaign as their national philanthropy, letting the Gamma Phi chapter to choose a local cause to support for the year. They chose Beast Philanthropy, a food pantry network that helps end hunger in areas of need. Gamma Phi threw multiple events to give money to their local food back, as well as helping out hands-on. They distribute food to those in need at a church, as well as help organize the food bank warehouse!
To raise some $$, Alpha Xi threw their annual Xiti Dinner in the Fall. They teamed up with Alpha Sigma Phi to support both of their philanthropies, getting the whole campus involved for a yummy dinner and prizes. Together, they were able to raise over $4,000!! In the Spring, Alpha Xi hosted a kickball tournament, with proceeds going to help fight food insecurity in Pitt County. Another great way of getting other organizations involved and having a blast raising money for a good cause!
Alpha Xi also makes an impact in their community by participating in some fun college traditions. Since ECU is the Pirates, each Homecoming the school crowns a Captain of the Ship. One of Gamma Phi's very own, Sophie, was chosen to be Homecoming Captain! A very high honor, it was special for the entire chapter to cheer on one of their own in the annual parade.

Best. Decision. Ever.
It might be summer now, but it's never too early to start talking about Recruitment, right?? After learning about the amazing PCs they've gotten in the past, we know Alpha Xi at ECU is going to kill it.
Going through Recruitment can be a stressful experience, especially if you don't know anyone at the school. The women in Alpha Xi Delta make girls feel instantly at home and comfortable, not talking from a script or hitting certain bullet points. Even when girls had to talk over Zoom, the conversations felt more like you're talking to a friend on FaceTime than a stranger. Connections like that make running home to AXiD even sweeter <33
So what sets Alpha Xi Delta apart from the rest? They are known to be welcoming, caring, sweet girls on campus. They have friends in other chapters, cutting deeper than surface level relationships. They want the best for each other, and that quality is shown throughout the Recruitment process.
With Bid Day quickly approaching, we can't wait to see all the amazing girls AXiD welcomes home. All members can experience an in person Recruitment, making the memories even more special. Now the most crucial question - what's their Bid Day theme going to be??
