First up - let's learn about their philanthropy! Alpha Delta Pi's national philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House Charities, an organization that provides home-away-from-from for families with ill children. The Delta chapter does an incredible job at raising money for RMHC with multiple events throughout the school year. This past year alone, they raised $32,920!! Now THAT'S something to brag about!
Since the Central Texas RMHC is only 10 minutes away from the ADPI house, members are able to volunteer there all the time! Girls get to go help cook there once a week, allowing them to see their efforts have a direct impact in the ATX community.
To raise the $$$, ADPi at UT throws multiple events, including Pi Hop and Diamond Dash Race. Pi Hop is held at the ADPi house once a semester, inviting students to come and get a pass for unlimited pancakes. I don't know a single college student that'd say no to all you can eat breakfast, so you know that event brings in some major cash for the cause! The Diamond Dash Race went on this past April, going the same time as the chapter's Spring Dad's Weekend! Girls were able to spend quality time with their dads, run around campus, and raise even MORE money for RMHC!

You join a sorority for the friendships you'll make with the other members, sharing memories that will last you a lifetime. Rachael talked about her amazing sisterhood, some of her fav events they get to go to, and the genuine bonds she's made as an ADPi at UT. Once she didn't do too hot on an exam, and was a little bummed after class. To cheer her up, some of her sisters surprised her with dessert! A small thing, but the fact that they went out of their way to make Rachael feel special shows how genuine and sweet this sisterhood is!
A fun sisterhood needs equally fun events! Rachael talked about some of her chapter's favs, including a classic Valentine's Day date function! Everyone dressed up in pink and red, dancing with each other, spreading all the love around <333
They also love some unique sisterhood events - like ice skating! You're either amazing on the ice or more like a baby deer trying to stay on its feet ... but either way it's a blast!! Getting to hang out with your sisters, helping each other out on the rink, we love to see it! ADPI also got to get together at a mini golf sisterhood, letting the chapter hang out and really just chill :)

The Best Is Yet To Come
The Best Is Yet To Come
It's sweet summertime, but that just means Recruitment is right around the corner! Rachael talked about her experience going through rush her freshman year, what she's most excited about this Fall, and what advice she has for girls on the other side.
Going through Recruitment during COVID times meant Zoom parties, making it harder to connect with the girls on a screen. Despite the obstacles, Rachael was able to connect with an ADPi on Pref, allowing her to relax and feel like she could be herself. She immediately felt accepted and that she didn't have to pretend to be someone else.
Now that we're back to in person, Rachael and the rest of ADPi can't wait to for Fall Recruitment! Specifically, some of Rachael's best friends are in charge of the festivities. Getting to see their visions come to life, as well as her own for Bid Day, makes the end result even more rewarding. It truly takes a village for a sorority Recruitment to run smoothly, and we can't wait to see how amazing and successful the Delta chapter's is!!
Going through Recruitment can be scary, but Rachael had THE best advice for incoming freshmen. Go in with an open mind, but don't just say it - do it! It can be easy to put your eggs in one basket, ignoring the connections you make at other houses. Recruitment is such a valueable experience, giving you the chance to talk with girls from every chapter. Even though you'll end up with one sorority at the end, you can make friendships in multiple sororities by keeping an open mind throughout the process!
