    Advice From a Member:

Don't be nervous for Open Round of Recruitment! This is the most laid-back round during rush. Members of sororities are looking to get to know you and it's important for you to get to know them! During this round, you get a slight idea of the community that is most suitable for, so...

Here are some questions you might be asked:

The 5 F's: Family, Friends, From, Fun and Future

When did you move in? What dorm are you in?

Did you already know your roommate?

Where are you from? Are you far from home?

What's your major? Why did you decide to pursue it?

Here are GREAT questions you can ask:

    All of the questions above!

What is you favorite memory at the school? And the sorority?

Is it easy to get involved in your sorority?

How do you balance Greek life with your school life?

What did you gain from becoming a sorority women?

Though members will be working hard to guide the conversations, these questions are great to have in your back pocket! Of course, you don't want to just fire questions at them, so squeeze them in where it makes sense!

    The BIG No No's

    Boys

Do your best to not bring up boys! Of course, family members are okay, but the members really care to get to know you! Try to stay away from talk about boyfriends, flings and do not mention frats!!

    Booze

Alcohol is a HUGE mistake a lot of girls make. Yes it's college and everyone has lots of fun, but mentioning any sort of parties, drunk stories or, again, frats will lead to a misguided impression.

    Bucks

I cannot stress enough that members are not going to be impressed by monetary conversations! They care about your heart and the excitement you can bring to Greek life!

    Bible

Of course, experiences of being a camp counselor and mentions of how your beliefs align with the sorority are okay! It would just be slightly awkward if the member had completely different beliefs and didn't know how to change the topic!

    Barack

Similar to above, if you are super passionate about politics, that is awesome! It's just important to make sure that your conversation is left to be an unbiased and weightless decision.

    SUPER IMPORTANT!

If a member asks you about any of the 5 B's, please tell your rush counselor! Your counselors are there to make you feel safe and look out for sororities that are not following common guidelines!
