Going to college can be scary and intimidating - especially if it's during a pandemic!! Emma talked about coming into college in 2020 and how difficult it was at first. BUT, thankfully the wonderful girls of Delta Zeta welcomed her into their chapter. Through the sisterhood, Emma has been able to serve on their executive board for two years in a row (we love to see it) and continue to make bonds with all her sisters! Having people there through the ups and downs is SO important, especially through college. Delta Zeta keeps on spreading that steadfast love <333

To spread the love in the sisterhood even more, DZ does a paint war every year! Girls come with white shirts, duct tape "DZ" on the front, and throw paint at each other! This is such and fun unique way to bond with your sisters and let loose. Once it's done, you get to take the tape off and rep your Greek letters with pride!! Super simple, super chill - the best kind of Sisterhood events if you ask me :)

So you have an incredible sisterhood - what's next? Fun events, duh! Delta Zeta at UTC does not disappoint in this category, doing so many cool things throughout the year.

First up - philanthropy! Every Spring, the Pi Lambda chapter holds an event called Dog Days! It's a day filled with puppies ... need we say more?? People from their chapter, other chapters, and other organizations on campus can bring their own dogs for a puppy party. It's the perfect stress reliever in the middle of the day, and lets people play with a bunch of dogs while supporting a good cause! Besides the puppy love, they are also holding a DZ Dance Off for the first time this year. Emma can't wait to see what dances everyone comes up with!

Next up - date parties! Last semester, DZ wrapped up 2021 with a themed date party! The theme was "80s Prom," so you know it was a blast. Girls went all out - from big hair, bold makeup, and the most ruffles on dresses you've ever seen. Everyone loves a good date party with your sisters, especially with such a fun theme! One thing's for sure - Delta Zeta knows how to party like it's the 80s!!

With 2022 in full swing, there are SO many things to look forward to in Chattanooga. Emma talked about how excited she is for this semester and all the exciting things it has in store. They just had Spring Recruitment, getting to welcome all their new sisters to DZ. Bid day really is the best day, right?

Emma is also really excited to participate in Greek Show this year. They are finally able to have the event this semester after pandemic postponements, and we know DZ is going to KILL it. Emma has been dancing her whole life and can't want to join in on the fun. Lip syncing and choreographed dancing - what could be better than that?

With one recruitment down, it's already time to start thinking about Fall! Since Emma is Delta Zeta's VP of Membership, she had amazing advice for girls going through recruitment. Her best advice? Truly be yourself! You want to end up somewhere where you can be comfortable and be surrounded by sisters that bring out the absolute best in you. Also, take risks! If you're debating on whether or not to go through Recruitment, go for it! As Emma said, "being in Greek Life has helped me gain a new confidence I never knew I had!"
